When I first started looking for a builder back in the 80’s, I spoke with several realtors in the area asking who they would recommend.  Every realtor I asked mentioned R. A. Bunting.  They all gave Bob Bunting high marks on quality, consistency, timeliness and competitive pricing.  I interviewed four builders (including Bob), rating all four on the same scale for quality, consistency, timeliness and competitive pricing.  I was most impressed with Bob Bunting.

Over the past 25 years Bob Bunting has built 10 quality homes for me. My relationship with Bob has always been excellent.   I have been very pleased with every home Bob has built. His quality homes have always been consistent and delivered to me on time. He has been on or under budget every time – for all ten!  When people stop and inquire about my home and its builder, I never hesitate to give out Bob’s name and number.  I have sent him many clients over the years!

The culmination of all our efforts (Bob’s and mine) is my home located at 54 S. Atlantic Ave, Bethany Beach!  As the proud owner of 54 S. Atlantic Ave., I need to recognize one new item in particular that Bob recommended – GEOTHERMAL HEATING!!!  It’s heating, air conditioning plus the energy tax credits ($13,000.00) are awesome!  My home is all electric and with the geothermal heating & cooling, my electric bills are half the amount I paid for my other homes of the same size without the geothermal!

Bob Bunting’s personal integrity is mirrored in his work. I have given Bob permission to forward any questions a potential client may have about R. A. Bunting  to me.  I totally recommend him as a builder.

When Claudia and I decided we were going to tear our house down and build a new one, we began asking friends and neighbors for recommendations for an architect and builder. Based on personal viewing of various homes under construction as well as those, which were completed and occupied, we felt we would like to have our home built by R. A. “Bob” Bunting. Upon receipt of the building plans, we asked four local builders to provide bids on the project. Three performed as expected and upon receipt and review of their proposals, we were very pleased that Bob’s bid was almost exactly between the least and most expensive b

ids. Although we wanted the R. A. Bunting Company as our builder, it was comforting to know that his bid was “in the ballpark”.

Our next step was to schedule an appointment with Bob for discussion and review of a contract. The review process went smoothly and after asking many questions and receiving answers to all of our initial concerns, we felt we were ready to make a decision. We met a second time and following reasonable negotiation between builder and customer, the two parties came to agreement and we signed the building contract.

Shortly thereafter, our previous home located on the building site was demolished and removed and construction of our new home began just as scheduled. As I had a thirty year career in the sales of building materials, I was very interested in the construction methods and quality of materials used. We were very fortunate as we owned a rental property in Ocean View and the tenant moved just as construction began thus I was able to be at the job site daily for long periods of time. Bob and all sub-contractors were extremely gracious and never expressed any concern with my hours of oversight. During the next several months, I took thousands of pictures of the workers and construction, many of which were placed on my personal website within a few hours so remote friends and family members could keep up with those times when I did indeed interfere. Watching and documenting the entire construction process was veryhttp://bunting.dev.nbrdesignstudio.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=52&action=edit# enjoyable for me and I learned a great deal from observing the various tradesmen as they performed their jobs.

As the construction continued, we experienced a number of instances requiring conversation between Bob, sub-contractor, Claudia and me. We made a few modifications to the building plan as the construction progressed and each was discussed by the appropriate persons and quickly and easily agreed upon. Additional cost (if any) for a modification was in every case considered reasonable and we continued to feel a close relationship with both Bob and the sub-contractor personnel. We always found Bob willing and ready to listen to any request with an open mind and genuine desire to please his customer.

Upon receipt of the occupancy permit from the Town, Bob and I had our final “formal” meeting, which included the plumbing and electrical sub-contractors. At this meeting, we made our final payment and presented a short “check list” of items we as the homeowner would like to have addressed. Shortly after this meeting, the “check list” items were completed and we moved into our new home.

Since the completion of our home five years ago, a couple of items were discovered, which needed attention and each time, Bob stopped by, reviewed the request and sent a tradesperson over to resolve our concern. Perhaps another contractor could have performed as well, but we felt blessed to have chosen Bob and his associates as we are so very pleased with our home and have received so many compliments from our friends and house guests. Not that we plan to ever build another home, but if we were to do so, we would want Bob and company to be our contractor and friend. Thank you Bob for performing so conscientiously and professionally!

When time came to renovate our 20+ year old Bethany Beach house, we did not even think twice about who to contact to do the work. Bob and his staff of contractors, many of whom have been with him for years, did such quality work for us when he built our first house in the 1980’s that we found it difficult to even think about sending out bids to other contractors.

With the renovation, again Bob was very easy to work with and continued to show his creative side, making suggestions that greatly improve upon some of our ideas. With the help of his crew, who displayed great pride in their craftsmanship, we were able to add bookcases, a window seat, and other features to personalize our rooms.

We could not be happier with our decision to have R. A. Bunting, Inc. complete our renovation. We know we have another high quality home to enjoy for many years to come!

Bob Bunting built our Bethany Beach house in 2001 – 2002. To say that Bob is our family builder is not an exaggeration. He also built Bethany homes for two of my sisters.

We chose Bob over three other local builders. Primarily we found Bob to be a good listener. He translated what we were looking for in a beach home into an attractive, comfortable, accommodating fun place for family and friends to gather as well as a serviceable rental property.

We were not skilled home builders and felt secure with Bob Bunting’s plans, choice of materials, and building process. Within Bob’s “building allowances”, we had a wide array of choices when it came time to select tile, carpeting, appliances, and the other such items.

Since we were not on site during much of the building, Bob kept us informed of progress and suggested key times for us to come and see the work at hand.

All his sub-contractors were unfailingly polite and we have retained several for house maintenance and upkeep over the years.

Our home was finished On-Time and On-Budget – and there was never any doubt that both of these would happen!

You will find my sisters had equally good experiences working with Bob Bunting and we would all choose him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fine builder.

We selected Bob Bunting to build our home after receiving bids from seven other contractors. For starters, Bob was the only one to get his bid in on time. His bid was very reasonable and we decided to use him to build our beach house. We had never built a house from scratch before and Bob made the entire process very streamlined and stress-free. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable and dependable. He promised us a house in six months and he delivered.

We were equally pleased with all of Bob’s subcontractors. They were experienced and helpful to us in making many decisions. The workmanship and details of our home also far exceeded our expectations. Bob Bunting built our home on-time, on budget and with quality workmanship. We would highly recommend him to anyone.
